I cried after portal because of the song and because we were both gone and I cried more at the end of portal2 because it's over. She's talking you go up the lift and it's over, everything and you get outside and it's over, you never meet again and she deletes you and goes ontO the next person out of thousands. That just got me and I'm 13 so my emotions are kindve wierd but I found it quite sad

Anyone who says video games aren't an art form has obviously never played any Zelda games. Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess always hit me where it hurts...after all Link and I went to come o, only an abrupt stop with nothing but goodbyes, it saddened me.

Honestly people who say games cant make you cry are very narrow minded. Now the only reason I say (or type in this case) is because when you talk about video games people automatically assume a major title game like "Call of Duty: Black ops" or like "Red Dead Redemption" but they never think of the possibility of other games. In fact in Japan they have video games specifically designed to make the player cry hard if you don't believe me just search the meaning of the genre "Nakige" but I warn you if you are the kind of person who feels emotion when playing video games at points you will feel happiness, sadness, regret, and possibly every other human emotion. It's a great reminder your still human and thats why I and many other people are proud to say "A video game made us cry."

I sobbed all through the end credits of Silent Hill 2. There's a long hallway at the end where you hear James's wife's half of an argument they had when she was alive and in the hospital. You can choose to run through the area quickly, or you can walk slowly and hear the entire thing and which one you choose can affect the ending because it's symbolic of his feelings about his wife.

The argument is devastating. She starts out yelling, freaking out about how the disease has made her ugly and generally shouting about how much she hates the hospital and then she tells him to get out but then she starts crying and begs him to come back and talks about she's so scared of dying.

At the good ending there's a voiceover that's a little cheesy with her talking to you with her having reached closure and wanting you to go live but the hallway had unnerved me to the point where it was completely heartbreaking and I just broke down.

Argh!
At E3 Steven Spielberg has just done an interview with the BBC where he said films are not like videogames because games are not a medium that can make you cry or connect emotionally because you're too busy pressing all the darn buttons. How annoying!

-Clearly not much of games player then. This is what he has learned from working with EA where he claims he is currently 'making' games.

Nice piece.

I have to admit I cried (like seriously HOWLED) at the end of Portal.

I've never had anyone (let alone someone in a parent/teacher/mentor role) say something as profound as "This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: Huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction."

It might be the most rewarding thing anyone (real or virutal) has ever said to me.
