Big video game publishing and developing companies like Bethesda Softworks, Bigpoint. Deep Silver, Electronic Arts, Konami, Nintendo, NCsoft, Riot Games, Take-Two Interactive, Wargaming and Warner Bros are confirmed participants, IGN reported.
Sony has already confirmed that they will be present at the event and will be having a press conference on 20 August, a day before the event starts. Recent reports stated that Sony will be offering 4.5GB of memory to games developers with an extra 1GB ‘flexible memory.’ The company might reveal details about this at the Gamescom press conference.
Sony is also expected to announce various gaming titles at the event. “There’s a lot going on, it’s just we need to keep stuff back. We’ve Gamescom for us Europeans, and we need to have something to show at Gamescom don’t we?!” said Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to Gamereactor.
Microsoft has also confirmed it will be hosting a Showcase Event where the Xbox One manufacturer is expected to reveal more details about its next-generation console’s self-publishing capabilities. The Microsoft event will be co-hosted by Phil Spencer and Phil Harrison, corporate vice presidents on 20 August at Gamescom 2013.
The company had not participated in the Gamescom 2012 event. Microsoft had earlier announced that its Kinect Sport Rival, an upcoming game which will be a delayed launch will be playable at Gamescom.
